This is a real question from the Period 1 bank. Pick an answer to see the explanation and the field tip, the part you won't get from a textbook.

In the app, questions come one at a time in random order, with timed mock exams and a running score by topic so you know where to study.

PERIOD 1 · DC ELECTRICITY
A wire comes loose at a junction box in a 4–20 mA loop. What does the loop current do?

How it works

01Pick your examChoose your period, the Red Seal, or a CCST level. Drill one topic or mix them all.
02Practice and learn whyEvery answer shows the reasoning and the math, plus a field tip on how it shows up on site.
03Write timed mock examsFull-length mock exams with a score by topic, so you study your weak spots instead of re-reading everything.

Written by someone who's been there

LoopCheck Prep is built by a Red Seal Instrument Technician, journeyman since 2009, with more than 20 years in the trade: oil sands, gas plants, and commissioning compressor stations, ESD and fire and gas systems in Alberta and Texas.

The field tips are the things you learn on the tools, not in the classroom. They're there to help you pass, and to help you on your first day as a journeyman.

Questions

Are these real exam questions?

No. Every question is original, written to cover the same topics and difficulty as the real exams. Real exam questions are confidential.

I'm not in Alberta. Does this still work?

Yes. The Red Seal bank covers the interprovincial exam for every province, and the CCST banks are built for US technicians.

Can I download or print the questions?

No. Questions are practiced online, one at a time, on up to two devices. That keeps the bank fair and keeps it from turning up for free somewhere else.

When does it launch?

Canada first, then the US. Join the waitlist and you'll hear the day it opens.
